Safety Council of
East Texas honors Champion for safety training efforts, performance
(April 17, 2009) LONGVIEW, Texas – The Safety Council of East Texas recognized
Champion Technologies’ efforts in safety training and five years of
incident-free work in the region, which is covered by Champion’s Kilgore
district operations.
The council presented awards to 26 businesses during an April 9, 2009, event in
Longview, Texas, hosted by the council for excellence in safety training. Local
contractors formed the 17-year-old nonprofit group to promote and improve
workplace safety through safety training.
“The criterion to qualify for an award was stringent, and based upon the federal
OSHA injury reporting requirements,” said Rick Wall, director of the Safety
Council of East Texas.
“Champion Technologies met the award requirements, and we are excited to
recognize their efforts in promoting safety training in the workplace. The
companies receiving these awards understand that safety training is required by
law and it is good business to provide a safe and healthful workplace for their
employees.”
