Exxon recognizes
Champion's Sakhalin operations as 'Best in Safety'
(Sept. 27, 2009) YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, Russia. Champion Technologies was awarded
the Excellence in Safety honor during an Aug. 6-7, 2009, meeting in
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia. Four Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL) senior managers
presented the award to representatives from Champion's Sakhalin operations.
Dozens of contractors support ENL's Sakhalin-1 project in Russia's Sakhalin
Island. At the organization's annual contractor safety meeting, two were honored
for their outstanding safety performance.
"It was a great honor to be recognized as one of two companies who received such
recognition from their production group," said Russia Regional Manager Todd
Harris.
Harris said an award of this magnitude is a credit to the safety culture
exhibited by the entire operations team.
"Without our personnel who make working safely every day a top priority, this
recognition would not have occurred," he said. We have always been informally
recognized for our leading participation in submitting near miss reports, but
this is the first formal recognition we have received.
